INSIDE THE CLASSROOM (6th Grade)

Here are a few highlights from the 6th grade fall trimester…

The sixth-grade class at HLS reads great literature like Anne of Green Gables and The Hobbit in the fall. Recently they got together and watched the 1985 version of Anne of Green Gables! The class also finished up their study of Famous Men of Greece with a writing project where each student wrote a persuasive essay on the greatest Greek Hero to live. Some of the choices were Achilles, Alexander the Great and Socrates. In Christian studies, the students discussed the main people groups: the Hebrews, Greeks and Romans. This is preparing them for the Upper School where they will learn about these groups in more depth. In Latin, they are learning how to work together on translations.

Mrs. Mundroff is preparing them well for 7th grade and the students are learning great study habits and time management. They enjoy having a recess twice a week where they can spend time fostering their friendships. This group of students really enjoy each other and are like family!
